Rachel’s story could be any parent’s story. 

JoJo's story could be any family’s heartbreak.  

Angelz On Deck was born from one mother’s unimaginable loss. Rachel Delesdernier was simply going about her day, working to support her family, when she got the call that changed everything: her 16-year-old son, JoJo, had become a victim of gun violence.

She took her pain and built Angelz On Deck to fight for our youth—especially those from low-income, largely minority neighborhoods. JoJo’s life and legacy fuel a mission to keep other families from this tragedy and give every young person the chance to reach their full potential.

Today, over 1,550 youth and their families have been helped through mentorship, creative programs, scholarships, and essential resources.
