I have been teaching for 28 years. During the course of my career, I met a child named Joseph Delesdernier (Jojo). This student was bright, funny, and a born leader. Unfortunately, his life was tragically cut short at the age of 16. After his passing, I looked up many of my former students. I found that a lot of them had become part of the school to prison pipeline.

Every child I've ever met wanted someone to believe in them. They wanted to be appreciated and loved. They had hopes and dreams that didn't include being incarcerated or killed through gun violence. 

Through Angelz On Deck and events such as JoJo'z Talent Expo we are inspiring youths to follow their dreams, pursue their talents, and create a safer community.

My personal goal is to raise $2,500 to support Angelz On Deck's program expansion so that we can provide more mentorship opportunities, creative programs, and resources connections for young people who need them most.

Your donation will help support programs that directly impact the community by giving young men and women alternatives to a lifestyle of pain and regret. Jojo's talent show helps young men and women show off their talents and be encouraged by the community. The Summer Jump off helps connect kids to summer camps and internships, keeping them busy throughout the summer and showing them a pathway to employment. Other projects throughout the year help students become contributors to the community.
