Dear Family & Friends,
I’m reaching out to share something that's close to my heart:
A cause that inspires and prepares young people for financial success.
Through our financial literacy programs, success means creating engaged, resourceful, and confident decision-makers. We inspire and prepare students to achieve their goals, becoming motivated, self-reliant individuals who make meaningful contributions to their families and communities.
I recently joined Junior Achievement of Greater Miami, a nonprofit teaching financial literacy, investing and entrepreneurship to Miami’s students—77% of whom live below the poverty line.
Here’s what we do:
- Make money easy to understand.
- Teach essential skills like budgeting, saving, investing, and entrepreneurship.
- Provide these programs free of charge to students and schools.
This work is deeply personal to me as a first-generation Miamian and the daughter of a banker. I know education has the power to change lives.
On Give Miami Day (Nov. 17–21), we have the chance to break the cycle of poverty for thousands of kids.
Last year, we reached 38,000 students, and we’re aiming even higher this year.
How can you help?
- A donation of any size makes a big impact.
- Together, we can teach kids how to earn, save, invest, and share money—and transform their futures.
Thank you for considering to join me in this mission. Your support means the world!
Cariños,
Lourdes de la Mata-Little
