Give Miami Day is just around the corner but there’s still time to finalize your giving plan! This year, I am doing my part to further @ywcasouthfl’s mission by asking my peers to make a donation to the YWCA.
The YWCA has many amazing programs, including health and wellness, court care, summer camps, workforce development, after school, and global education programs. Near and dear to my heart is their Head Start/Early Head Start Programs, which provide comprehensive child development services for low-income children and families in Miami-Dade County. Head Start programs support children's growth from birth to age 5 through services centered around early learning and development, health, and family well-being. As a child, I benefited tremendously from the Head Start Program. I was able to attend pre-school at virtually no cost and get a quality early education in a safe environment while my single mother worked. These services prepared me for elementary school and helped me to qualify for "gifted and talented" and other advanced programs. I am incredibly grateful and want to pay it forward.
Through Head Start and its many other Programs, the YWCA continually works to provide quality services and education in safe settings for low-income children and families to prepare children for school and life.
Just one donation can make a huge difference.
