Sea Her Shine

This women-led organization is creating an extraordinary impact in Miami through community-driven environmental programs, despite its small size. Their weekly cleanups have removed over 64,000 pounds of trash before it reaches the ocean. Federally funded education initiatives have reached over 14,000 students and partnered with more than 50 restaurants to reduce plastic waste. They are also expanding efforts through county contracts to bring environmental education and waste reduction programs to underserved schools and neighborhoods often overlooked due to lack of funding.

What makes this story even more inspiring is that, in my international work, this small NGO is so frequently mentioned and celebrated for its accomplishments that many are astonished to learn it is powered entirely by just three dedicated women. Donations will directly support their tireless efforts, ensuring that underfunded schools and underserved communities gain access to the environmental education and resources needed to foster a more equitable and sustainable Miami for all.
