Help Me Raise Funds for Miami Girls Rock Camp!

My name is Sandra Almeida and I am raising funds for Miami Girls Rock Camp for Give Miami Day 2025! Miami Girls Rock Camp is completely volunteer-run and provides an inclusive space for girls and non-binary youth to explore their musical talents, no matter their backgrounds or previous musical experience. Campers also have the opportunity to participate in workshops teaching them anything from how to create their own zine, to how to build self-esteem and resilience. 

The impact of Miami Girls Rock Camp cannot be overstated. Campers love the space so much, that they go on to become instrument instructors and counselors once they turn 18 and age out of the camp. Campers have even gone on to create their own bands outside of the camp, playing local shows in Miami!

Miami Girls Rock Camp impacts the lives of those of us who volunteer as well. I have been honored to volunteer for about five summers. Volunteering has provided me an opportunity to connect with youth in Miami in a different capacity than teaching. It has allowed me to build community with other change makers in Miami. It has even allowed me to dip my toe into making music when I participated in an adult rock camp in 2019!

Due to Florida's cuts to arts funding, Miami Girls Rock Camp needs our support more than ever to continue to provide these unique experiences for Miami youth.
