Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of the University of Miami Health System and the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, is South Florida's university-based cancer center. Sylvester is home to an expert team of more than 2,400 physicians, researchers, and staff who work together to discover, develop, and deliver world-class cancer care for your specific cancer.

As part of our mission is to reduce the human burden from cancer, our experts offer a wide range of information and programs to help our community make lifestyle choices that reduce risks and promote well-being.

Sylvester earned the coveted National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation in 2019, becoming the only NCI-designated cancer center in South Florida and one of 71 cancer centers with the distinction nationwide. NCI recognizes cancer centers that meet rigorous standards for transdisciplinary, state-of-the-art research focused on developing new and better approaches to preventing, diagnosing, and treating cancer. NCI designation further expands Sylvester’s ability to care for patients and our community at large, from increased access to novel therapies and clinical trials, to expanded cancer prevention initiatives, survivorship programs, and more.
