Casa Familia began as a dream—a vision that was shared by a group of parents and family members who saw great need, not only within their own families, but for all adult individuals with Intellectual, Developmental and Other Related Disorders.  This group of visionaries saw a future filled with hope, potential, independence, and community; then set about making that dream into viable reality.  More than just a building or housing, Casa Familia is place where adult individuals with exceptional needs can make a home of their own, find new friends, create lifelong connections and flourish within an environment that fully supports and embraces them.  A new model for affordable housing that is sustainable, replicable, and designed to meet the needs of its resident over a lifespan.  A community envisioned by loved ones, to offer security and belonging, even when they are no longer there to provide it. 

This Give Miami Day, please join Jackson—a potential applicant for Casa Familia—as he teams up with Casa Familia Board Member Mike and Casa Familia Young Professionals Board Members Debbie and Christy, in their campaign to raise $3,250 in support of Exceptional Housing for Exceptional People.  Your donation to Casa Familia enables us to develop affordable housing options, specifically designed to support adults with Intellectual, Developmental, and Other Related Disabilities; in an enriched community setting that fosters social engagement, community inclusion, personal independence, and a meaningful life of self agency.
