Taken from their parents due to neglect or abuse, traumatized children and youth often go through several foster and/or group homes in the child welfare system. Most have emotional special needs, and many have physical or mental special needs as well.
FFCR is a non-profit agency comprised of volunteer panels that oversee and advocate for stable placements. The volunteers work with child welfare professionals to help identify and assure that the requisite support services are provided these youth. The FFCR then becomes a valuable resource for the Juvenile Dependency Court with its resultant recommendations for each case it reviews.
One of FFCR’s key goals is to ensure that foster kids gain the skills necessary for eventual independent living. Once they turn 18, they’ll age out of the system unless they continue on with their education. The FFCR also seeks mentors who will help foster kids transition to adulthood, hopefully creating life-long connections for these youth.
Your donation will greatly assist this worthy and so-necessary community endeavor.
Thank you very much!
