Join me in supporting our worker-led, community-driven project to study and share knowledge about the incredible migratory birds passing through Miami, fostering awareness, appreciation and action for these vital species!
The Cape Florida Banding Station is hoping to raise $12,000 during today's Give Miami Day fundraiser. These unrestricted funds will allow us to replace worn equipment, in particular delicate mist nets, and pay for other operational costs to allow us to continue our monitoring, research, and education.
Thank you to our founders—Michelle Davis, Liz Golden, and Robin Diaz—for starting this project and fostering a supportive community in the sciences for team members like myself and so many others. I also want to extend my gratitude to all the volunteers, lead banders, and supporters of this project; our work would be impossible without you. Finally, I want to thank my co-director, Nicole Rita, for undoubtedly holding things down with me during last year’s administrative transition. Most of the time we dedicate to this project is volunteered, and with your support, we’ll achieve our goal of fully reopening next fall in 2025.
