The Home Run Team includes individuals in the community who MENTOR men who experienced homelessness and have graduated from an intense Regeneration Program at The Caring Place @Miami Rescue Mission. Claude Delorme, former Executive VP of the Miami Marlins is the Chairman of this committee.
Each Home Run Mentor has one or more MENTEES they oversee on an ongoing basis. They meet and schedule regular calls to encourage, empower, provide support and guidance to MENTEES. Social events are also held during the year such as bowling, Top Golf, dinner with the mentors and the mentees and attending a Marlins Baseball home Game in a suite with mentors and mentees. Live simulations are held to get the mentees familiar with interviews and provide feedback on their profile and resume.
The Home Run Team participates in fundraising efforts for The Caring Place @Miami Rescue Mission MEN'S ANNEX which houses the upper phase men and graduates of the Regeneration Program.
The total cost for an entire year to provide food, shelter, counseling and education programs for each resident is $2,500. There are a total of 78 beds in the men's annex to sponsor for the upper phase Regeneration Program residents.
Our total annual goal is to raise $195,000 for these 78 residents in the program.
WE hope to raise over 35% of the annual goal on Give Miami Day.
Any donation of $25 or more is greatly appreciated.
Recognition of your donation will be highlighted on a plaque (scoreboard) located in the men's annex as follows:
- 1st Base – $625 - sponsors 3 months for ONE of the 78 residents
