My story with A Zero Waste Culture started at 13 years old when I made a video in order to educate those around me about the process of turning organic waste into non-toxic fertilizers used extensively by my community. Since then, I've become deeply involved as a volunteer, and I've learned the multitude of ways I can contribute to a greener future through composting, recycling, and spreading awareness to all. Moreover, the invaluable interactions I share with my community have allowed me to involve myself with Key Biscayne's kind, passionate individuals at a personal level.
Every Saturday, I pour my time and effort into weighing and collecting organic waste while giving back the irreplaceable soil to my community. Furthermore, my experiences at Bill Baggs National Park, where organic waste is processed, have furthered my dedication to composting as it has enlightened me on what composting truly is. Through turning, aerating, and silting the soil, I've learned the vast environmental impact our community's actions have and the science behind composting. One bucket at a time, we move towards a greener, brighter future.
Consider donating to A Zero Waste Culture, where every dollar will be put to use to transform my community environmentally and spread awareness for our cause of helping the planet.
