$10,000 Goal

True Mirage Theater (YOUR theatre company), was birthed in the halls of the prestigious New World School of the Arts by minority alumni. From our humble beginning, a vital part of our mission has been to provide a vehicle for up and coming artists so that we may nurture new works that reflect the members of our community.

Through Festivals celebrating new work such as:
"The MUF (Miami Uno Festival)" for original one person shows;
"RESONATION - Miami" which allowed new composers & lyricists voices to be heard through showcasing original musicals;
"Miami's Short Winter Festival" where almost 40 local artists collaborated to bring original short plays to life, (comprised of over 95% BIPOC artists);
and "The Minority Report" - the first live theatrical event in Miami after the COVID lockdown reading of 3 original plays by BIPOC playwrights, (one of which was picked up by a major Broadway producing company - Broadway Factor)

WORLD PREMIERE productions:

“Songs From The Brink” - a song cycle style musical by Robyn Eli Brenner and Mackenzie Anderson

“Hoo Hah!” - a dark comedy by Armando Santana, which was nominated for Outstanding New Play at the 2024 Carbonell Awards.

We aspire to continue the search for new, thought-provoking works particularly by BIPOC playwrights aiming to close the gap on representation disparities in order to reflect the actual community we serve. It's time to close that gap and we are working to answer that call.

Mini Mirage was also born, a program that caters to mostly BIPOC youth in Miami, giving them a voice, and empowering them by providing a training ground to channel their artistic potential, fostered solely by working theatre professionals. No family is ever turned away because of their inability to pay, as we provide need-based scholarships.

Mission

True Mirage Theater presents socially conscious, thought-provoking theatrical experiences spanning across numerous genres and styles. Our performances are artistically formulated to illuminate the minds of our audiences, while also entertaining community members from all walks of life. We are a playground for emerging artists: fostering and nurturing never-before-seen works of art.

The Mission is Real.

Empower local emerging artists by serving as a cultural and educational platform, producing exciting, new and original works primarily by BIPOC playwrights.

Tackle pieces that are seldom seen on the South Florida stage, honoring both the classical, contemporary, and all genres in between, with a focus on color-conscious & type-blind casting

Hold a mirror up to our beloved community in search of answers amidst ever growing mass cognitive dissonance.
