Team Kareem Memorial Foundation was founded in 2015 by Arkeisha Reese, mother of Kareem Angel Green, who tragically lost his life due to a drowning incident at his school. It was his first field trip and last. Since it's inception, the organization has worked tirelessly to educate families on being safe in and around the water! We truly work hard so that Kareem's family's pain won't have to be experienced by others.
Drowning happens fast and it is silent! Each year, about 4,000 people drown in the United States. Drowning kills more children 1-4 years of age than anything else except birth defects. Last year, Florida lost 99 children to drowning and sadly we are on track to surpass that number this year. Swim lessons, life vests, water watchers and CPR when used properly are designed to help prevent drownings in young children.
With a strong desire to ensure that no other parent would have to endure the heartache she experienced; Arkeisha set out on a mission to provide a vital resource for children and families in her community.
Through the Team Kareem Memorial Foundation, Arkeisha provides scholarships for swim lessons, CPR Training and lifeguard certifications for those in need.

Team Kareem Memorial Foundation mission is to eliminate childhood drowning by creating awareness of water safety, swimming lessons and CPR.
To provide the parents and caregivers the necessary education and resources available through our partners and community to prevent further drowning incidents.
