STAY in FLA

A nonprofit organization

In keeping with our mission of economic freedom through entrepreneurship, StayinFLA has held mentor events with high school students to provide students with the social capital needed to navigate college, careers and a future in entrepreneurship.

Our founder, Dr. Susana Alvarez-Diaz has done research on the importance of mentors as it relates to career success and earning potential, especially in underserved communities. Her research found that mentorship should begin as early as middle school, seeing as by the time the student reaches high school, they already have some idea about their future career options. Dr. Alvarez-Diaz found that mentors are key to guiding students early on regarding the many available higher-paying career paths, including entrepreneurship, that can lead to social and financial advancement, as well as financial freedom.

Our future projects include start-up boot camps, networking events, mentor programming, and career empowerment for underserved communities in the State of Florida. StayinFLA aims to serve our Florida youth by preparing them for a prosperous future through entrepreneurial preparation and instruction by way of creating access to mentors.

Mission

To make economic freedom accessible to underserved communities through entrepreneurship education, mentoring and networking.
