Roxy Theatre Group

Roxy Theatre Group is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization geared toward children ages 4 to 16 years old, yet catering to all ages. Our programs focus on the performing arts, offering classes in dance, drama and voice. These are provided through an educational format of teacher/student classroom environments culminating in on-stage productions.

Our doors opened in 2002 with 250 students enrolled in various performing arts classes. Since our inception, we have produced numerous recitals and musicals; implemented a number of after-school programs; have annually conducted a performing arts summer camp; and participated in numerous local, regional, and national competitions and events. Our annual season consists of "Holly Jolly Follies," a winter showcase; a large scale Broadway-style musical production; a year-end recital which is a culmination of the knowledge the children have garnered throughout the year; community outreach performances at senior centers and museums; and several original shows written and performed by parents, students, local teachers and special guests.

Children learn to be more assertive, improve their self-esteem, and realize that creativity can come in many forms of expression. The impact isn't only artistic as only a few of the enrolled students wish to pursue careers in the arts. The education and experiences students are exposed to at The Roxy inform all facets of children's formative years, as evidenced by their stories of improved academics and social interactions. These results align with national research that suggests that arts education is not just an extracurricular activity, but rather makes meaningful positive impacts in child growth and development.
