Our goal is to create a sustainable model that will nurture and connect the visibility and professional growth of Miami-based artists to an international art community with high-quality programming that will culminate each year in December with Prizm's signature event, Prizm Art Fair. Prizm is an annual event, established in 2011 by Prizm, running concurrent to Art Basel Miami. Prizm gives contemporary visual artists from the Global African Diaspora, both emerging and established a platform to exhibit and to elevate their practices to prominence on the world's stage.
Mission
Prizm is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to serve as an incubator for partnering artists, and designers from the global African Diaspora. Prizm Projects proposes an educational exchange program wherein artists from abroad visit Miami, and Miami artists venture to our partner organizations in global Diasporic communities to engage in cross-cultural dialogue. These exchange opportunities will be buoyed by the presentation of curated exhibitions organized by local and international curators. Prizm Projects will also organize workshops with students from Miami-Dade County that serve as an introduction to visual arts through the lens of African and African Diaspora cultural aesthetics. Prizm Projects also presents Prizm Panels at Prizm Art Fair hosted annually during Miami Art Week.
