FOCAL has provided after school and summer camp services to low-income families for over 25 years. The program strives to provide high quality learning experiences that promote academic, physical, social, and emotional growth. FOCAL participants consistently excel academically, due to motivating and engaging educational programming. FOCAL provides classes and activities such as homework assistance / tutoring, nutrition classes, youth employment, social emotional learning, and physical education. FOCAL accomplishes its overall goal of providing services that assist and challenge participants to not only catch up but stretch beyond their comfort level to develop skills they didn't know they had.
Mission
The mission of the Foundation of Community Assistance & Leadership (FOCAL) is to increase educational and social services provided to students of low income families.
The purpose is to provide students the academic and social skills needed to succeed throughout elementary, middle and high school. The goal is to provide an enriched environment that is in touch with every participants academic need to ensure that each child has the ability to not only graduate from high school but also college. FOCAL strives to ensure that our students have the skills and motivation to pursue their academic and career aspirations in order to better their lives and their communities.
