Little Tails Rescue was formed in 2015 to assist homeless senior dogs. Since our inception, we have saved blind dogs and cats, dogs with diabetes, cancer, end of life kidney failure, dogs with heart conditions, dogs with parvo and many other health issues. Most of these animals have been adopted while others have remained with us in permanent hospice homes due to serious health issues. As we focus mainly on animal with serious health conditions, we require monthly funding to assist with medical costs. We are a 100% volunteer organization and all donations are used for medical care and food for our permanent dogs and cats. We have featured two of rescues: Louie, a senior rat terrier, who came from our county shelter, Miami Dade Animal Services. Louie was rescued with a leg injury which turned out to be an old injury which required amputation. Louie was adopted by a lovely local family and is doing wonderfully. Our other featured dog, Chispi, a senior Pomeranian, was brought to our vet to be euthanized after being mauled by a larger dog. We took her in and after 30 days of treatment she was discharged from the vet with only a small scar. She was then adopted by an amazing lady who has provided this little senior a wonderful home. Chispi, now named Lily Belle, is doing great and we get many updates on her from her mom.
Little Tails Rescue, Inc. is a no-kill 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are dedicated to the rescue, treatment and adoption of cats and dogs in the South Florida area. Our focus is largely on small and senior dogs. Senior dogs are often overlooked, unwanted and discarded. Senior dogs can live a long life with proper care and deserve a second chance at happiness.
