Lincoln-Marti Community Agency

Lincoln-Marti Community Agency was founded in 1990 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The agency was created to address the economic, social, and educational needs low-income, minority populations of South Florida. Lincoln-Marti focuses on the unmet needs of immigrants, minorities, and individuals of diverse ethnic, racial, national and economic backgrounds.

The agency carries out its mission through a variety of educational programs. Among these are its childcare centers, an Exceptional Student Education (ESE) program that provides services to children with varying degrees of exceptionalities and a traditional K-12 educational program that serves families throughout South Florida. The childcare program has 40 locations throughout Miami-Dade county, from Florida City to Opa-Locka, as well as in Kissimmee in Central Florida. The children that attend this program range in age from infancy to 5 years. Lincoln-Marti currently serves more than 3,000 children each day in its childcare programs. The agency also provides after school care services and limited social services to families in the communities that it serves.

To support its operations, Lincoln-Marti has two divisions consisting of foodservice and transportation. The transportation division serves approximately 700 children twice each day. Lincoln-Marti also provides approximately 20,000 nutritious meals per day to program participants. The children who attend Lincoln-Marti's programs are provided with breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack.

The agency is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of volunteers with experience in various professional fields, among them education. Lincoln-Marti's programs are supported by government agencies, corporations, foundations and private individuals. At present, the agency employs nearly 500 people.
