The Key Clubhouse of South Florida

The Key Clubhouse of South Florida is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit accredited organization that helps adults living with serious mental illness rebuild their lives through the internationally acclaimed "Clubhouse" program. Our members are people who want to live full, productive lives while managing their schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, schizoaffective disorder, PTSD and other mental health conditions.

Serious mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and major depression, strike 1 in 17 people, usually in the prime of their youth, regardless of gender, ethnic background or economic level. The results can be devastating. It takes tremendous courage, persistence and hope to learn how to overcome the mental and physical changes that come with mental illness. The Key Clubhouse is there to help.

The Key Clubhouse offers an accepting "Recovery through Work" community where our members socialize, learn new skills and get placed in jobs in the community. In July 2021, the Clubhouse moved into a beautiful new space that offers expanded pre-employment training opportunities for our members, including a restaurant-quality kitchen, Employment Center and Video Production Center. Forty-five of our members are living in supportive housing in the same building, an apartment complex built and managed by Carrfour Supportive Housing. Members and staff work side-by-side in our Business, Culinary and Communications Unit to build stamina and employment-related skills. When they are ready, we help place members in jobs in the community with support from the Clubhouse. The Clubhouse also holds social activities and helps members connect with educational programs and social services, including housing.
