Our Story

Founded in 2020, Island SPACE Caribbean Museum is the only pan-Caribbean heritage museum in the world, preserving and celebrating the history, art, and culture of people from the Caribbean and its diaspora.

From our home in Plantation, Florida, we bridge islands and generations through exhibitions, festivals, and educational programs that connect communities, inspire pride, and build cross-cultural understanding. We exist to ensure that Caribbean voices and legacies remain visible, valued, and vibrant for generations to come.

Our programs and exhibitions reach thousands of people each year, and we are proud to play a role in educating and inspiring the public about Caribbean culture.

What Your Gift Makes Possible

  • Safeguards priceless artifacts, photographs, and oral histories, ensuring that our culture, our ancestors, and our story are never lost.
  • Ensures that the Caribbean story has a seat at the global table, represented in museum galleries, academic spaces, and cultural institutions.
  • Fuels local artists, curators, and educators, giving them resources, visibility, and opportunities to thrive.    Sustains programs that bring families, students, and elders together in a place of shared identity.
  • Enables school tours, youth workshops, and storytelling programs that ignite cultural connection in young minds.
  • Advances a world where Caribbean heritage stands beside all other global cultures — respected, recognized, and celebrated.

Your gift makes a real difference.

  • $5,000 supports a four-month art exhibition showcasing Caribbean artists and their stories, and powers signature festivals.

Giving Activity

Mission

Island SPACE Caribbean Museum exists to safeguard the stories, art, and spirit of the Caribbean — bridging generations, uplifting our creators, and ensuring that our shared heritage continues to inspire, educate and unite people around the world.

Here in South Florida, where one in four residents was born in the Caribbean, our work preserves the living heartbeat of our community.

Your gift keeps the Caribbean story alive — every island, every voice and every generation.

Together, we are building the world’s home for Caribbean culture — one that honors our past, empowers our present and secures our future.
