Haiti Now

A nonprofit organization

Do you live in Miami Dade?
Have you experienced domestic servitude?
Do you have the desire to actively change the lives of children in domestic servitude (Restavek)?
Please join our mission, contribute to the design of programs and implementation of initiatives aiming to improve the lives of children in domestic servitude.
You can help change the way people think about and respond to domestic servitude.
We believe you are the only voice that can legitimately speak about domestic servitude. We cherish and value your story of surviving domestic servitude and we are committed to listening and learning from you so we can grow Haiti Now into a powerful force for good dedicated to girls in domestic servitude.

Since 2010, Haiti-Now has been dedicated to improving the lives of impoverished children through education. We partnered with a community school and established a successful Book Bank, distributing thousands of textbooks to hundreds of disadvantaged children. We provided literacy interventions, teacher training, tuition, housing, healthcare, and food assistance. Working primarily with Restavek children allowed us to more fully understand the trauma they endured, the complex forces shaping their lives, and the insufficient assistance they received.

Mission

Haiti Now is dedicated to empowering Haitian girls living in domestic servitude to overcome poverty and exploitation to achieve economic security.
