GMDB Sul Florida, Corp

A nonprofit organization

Grupo Mulheres do Brasil, South Florida is a non-partisan movement chaired by businesswoman Luiza Helena Trajano, bringing together more than 80,000 women who dream and work voluntarily for a better Brazil, and consequently for a better world. We are organized in centers located in several Brazilian cities and abroad. In the United States, we count on 6 centers: Silicon Valley, NY, Boston, Hawaii, Orlando, and South Florida.

In practice, we seek to connect all people, placing female nature at the service of transforming a more just society, one that welcomes, cares and makes it happen. For this purpose, we work on social, political and economic causes, supporting existing projects and creating initiatives that promote these changes. And for that, we operate in areas that we consider to be priorities in each context, not only for women, but for the whole society.

We have thematic committees focused on these areas, with topics chosen by the group, such as culture, education, entrepreneurship, racial equality, public policies, refugees, health, connecting neighborhoods and communities, people with disabilities, voices and combating violence against women, in addition to others that serve as support such as communication, expansion and legal. These committees actively work on the root of the causes they propose.

Specifically, in South Florida, our goal is to connect and transform our Brazilian community into protagonists for a better society, based on this feminine role. Since October 2019, the Center has been strengthening its Entrepreneurship Committee, with the objective of supporting Brazilian women entrepreneurs, motivating them to generate new businesses, as well as improving their existing ventures, through information, training and consultancy. Inspiring and empowering them to become authors of their own success and value stories.

Mission

Our mission as a Grupo Mulheres do Brasil is to empower and connect Brazilian women living abroad, creating initiatives that promote the transformation of our community in South Florida, facilitating the Brazil-US cultural transition and strengthening the identity of the Brazilian immigrants.
