Community Outreach
CBCT has a wide range of local involvement, having worked and volunteered with the South Miami Dade/Moss Cultural Arts Center, Southland Mall, East Ridge Retirement Village, the South Florida Theatre League, the University of Miami, the Circle of Friends, a variety of festivals for the southern Miami area, and much more!
Improv Workshops
CBCT has been offering free weekly improvisation workshops for the past eight years, using improv as a medium for personal growth and inter-community connections free of politics or prejudice. Workshops are weekly, every other week in-person complemented by Video-conferencing sessions on off weeks. In addition to these workshops, CBCT performs shows regularly throughout the year and is an active part of the Miami improv scene.
Sketch & Media Workshops
CBCT's Sketch & Media workshops offer a place for both aspiring and experienced writers and actors to learn about and put into production staged sketches and scripts for media production via video, podcast, etc.
Annual Play / Play Festival
CBCT performs at least one larger production each year with all roles open to members of the community. These productions may include original plays, one act compilations, full plays and musicals!
Mission
Committed to fostering a theater outlet by and for the local community within the Cutler Bay and general southern Miami region. Depending on interest and availability, there are opportunities for plays, readings, and improvisation. While the goal is to put on engaging productions, the motivation is to provide a social outlet that is both an opportunity for self/community growth, and an opportunity to bring a bit of fun to what may otherwise be the doldrums of daily life. So if you have an interest in acting, singing, writing, directing, stand-up, improv, or technical/backstage aspects of theater, join us - no experience necessary!
