Catholic Legal Services (CLS) aims to welcome the stranger and provide urgently-needed high-quality and culturally competent legal services and guidance to low-income immigrants in South Florida. The need for immigration legal services continues to grow in South Florida. In Miami-Dade County, more than half of the population is foreign-born. CLS has seen a sustained increase in those seeking immigration assistance.

As an organization founded and based in the immigrant community of Little Haiti in Miami, CLS can anticipate trends in immigrant communities as they develop. CLS has programs serving immigrants from over 150 countries, ranging from unaccompanied children as young as infancy to age 104. We focus on the most vulnerable including but not limited to: victims of crime, the medically-underserved, unaccompanied minors, separated families, indigenous populations, and asylum seekers. We provide services for those facing removal proceedings and work to increase access to representation and due process. We also help individuals with affirmative applications such as family reunification petitions, VAWA, and U Visa petitions for victims of domestic violence or other crimes, as well as applications for residency and citizenship.
