Founded in 2007, Amazonia Vocal Ensemble is a vibrant, volunteer-driven choral group united by a shared love of music and a commitment to cultural celebration. Our ensemble brings together singers of diverse skill levels and backgrounds, performing an impressive repertoire that showcases the richness of Latin American music. While we specialize in contemporary Latin American compositions, we also create original arrangements of folk and popular songs in languages such as English, Spanish, Quechua, Portuguese, and Papiamento, among others.

As part of Amazonia Music Corp., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, our mission is to celebrate and promote Latin America’s extraordinary musical heritage while fostering education, inclusion, and community connection. We believe music has the power to transcend cultural barriers, and our performances highlight the universal threads that unite us all. Inclusion is at the heart of what we do—we strive to create a welcoming and inspiring space for people of all backgrounds to connect and share their passion for music.

Our Reach and Impact

Amazonia Vocal Ensemble plays a leading role in bringing the vibrant choral music of Latin America to South Florida and beyond. We’ve been privileged to represent South Florida’s Hispanic community on national stages, including:

    •    Casa de España, Puerto Rico

    •    National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Museum, Washington, D.C.

    •    Carnegie Hall, New York City

    •    Columbia University, New York City

    •    Chorus America National Conference 2020, as a featured choir

Our dedication to artistic excellence and cultural celebration has also led us to forge meaningful partnerships with leading educational institutions. These collaborations include hosting choral festivals and residencies with Florida International University, Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, and various public schools, libraries, and community centers.

Fostering the Next Generation of Artists

Amazonia serves as a talent incubator for emerging choral conductors, instrumentalists, and composers from the University of Miami, Florida International University, and beyond. Through collaborative projects such as the 2024 Latin American Choral Festival, we provide a platform for rising artists while nurturing their talents within the context of our unique mission.
