Our goal is to ensure that each teacher has access to a laptop cart and a smart board.  

💻 Why Your Support Matters

Technology is essential for today’s education — from interactive lessons and research projects to reading programs and assessments.

Pursuant to the new state law, students are prohibited from using personal technology devices during instructional time.  At the same time, Federal funding to the school district has been cut because the district's enrollment is down 13,000 students.  What that means is that the District does not have money budgeted to supplement technology needs in the classroom, and the students are statutorily prohibited from using their own devices.  Here is where your support comes in!

Our school has requested 9 more laptop carts ($13,529.48 each) and 12 smart boards ($3,837.09) so that each teacher will have a working smart board and access to a laptop cart.

Every gift — big or small — moves us closer to fully equipped classrooms.  The laptop carts are used for research, testing, test prep, and other critical items for our students’ success.  The smart boards are used for EVERYTHING to integrate technology with instruction learning!!  

The District is cutting the budget everywhere, but we can close the gap with our generous donations!! 

When we invest in technology, we’re investing directly in our children’s future.

We know you have big plans this year! For every $1 you contribute, the PTA will allocate 50% of the amount raised through Give Miami for your end of year trips and celebrations! Every dollar raised through Give Miami Day will be reserved for Media Center improvements, so all incentives and matching funds for Grades 5 - 8 will be funded by the PTA general budget.
