Elizabeth Virrick Park Committee, Inc.

Functioning in an advisory capacity to the City of Miami's Elizabeth Virrick Park since 1998, the Elizabeth Virrick Park Committee, Inc., also referred to as the Virrick Park Committee, continues to explore programming opportunities for park patrons of all ages. The park, situated in the historically and culturally rich community of Coconut Grove’s Little Bahamas, has provided residents and the public at-large, with quality recreational, educational and enrichment programs since opening in the early 1960's.

The VPC actively maintains and pursues opportunities for collaboration and partnership to provide artistic, musical, scholastic, computer skills, literacy, scientific and athletic programming including current affiliations with the Essence of Dance LLC., Miami-Dade Public Library, and Coconut Grove Optimist International Club Youth Sports.  The outdoor area and the gymnasium are always bustling with activities ranging from athletic practice sessions, to seasonal youth basketball and volleyball games. 

The Virrick Park Committee continues to acts as an intermediary between the City of Miami and community to promote activities at the park for its beautification, and by sponsoring or facilitating activities that foster good health, fitness, and well-being of both children, young adults, seniors and families. The committee has played a key role in facilitating community meeting regarding the new pool's design and recently the appeal for supplementary funds for pool construction.

The Virrick Park Committee is wholeheartedly dedicated to program expansion and enhancement in order to meet the needs and cultivate the interest of its surrounding diverse and evolving community. Funds donated to the Virrick Park Committee would allow us to further support the aforementioned programming efforts where needed, especially as we prepare for a new academic school year, the commencement of renewed existing programs and preparation for the launch of aquatic programming in 2024.
