The Optimist Foundation of Greater Goulds Florida Inc

The mission of The Optimist Foundation of Greater Goulds, Florida Incorporated is to provide affordable educational, cultural and recreational programs to economically disadvantaged families, youth and children in Goulds and the surrounding areas. The purpose is to further certain charitable and educational purposes of The Greater Goulds Optimist Club. The goals of our organization are to develop optimism as a way of life, to promote an active interest in good government and civil affairs, to inspire respect for the law, to promote patriotism and work for international accord and friendship among people and to aid and encourage the development of youth.

The mission of the Greater Goulds Optimist Club is to provide affordable educational, cultural and recreational programs to economically disadvantaged families in Goulds and the surrounding areas. The Greater Goulds Optimist Club was established in June of 1994 and has been a member of Optimist International since 1993 and a member of Pop Warner Little Scholars since March 1995. The Greater Goulds Optimist Club offers a year round After School programs consisting of homework assistance, reading, physical fitness, computer literacy training, community service projects/events and social skills development; Summer Computer Literacy Day Camp in partnership with Miami-Dade County Parks & Open Spaces/Goulds Park, Summer Band Camp, Summer Dance Camp, Job Coach/Job Readiness for high schoolers, baseball, t-ball, basketball, football, dance and cheerleading. Our Goulds March Against Crime Committee is actively involved in decreasing crime in our community. The Goulds March Against Crime Committee has held several marches, events and rallies in Goulds highlighting the need to stop the violence, especially among our youth.
