The Victory Center, Inc.

The Victory Center is a Miami-based, non-profit, non-sectarian organization that provides a 360-degree scope of services that promote the overall well-being of the autism community. The organization was founded nearly two decades ago by parents who grew frustrated as they struggled to find appropriate educational opportunities for their son on the autism spectrum. After trying public and private schools, the family found the only effective program to be Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), an intensive and scientifically proven form of therapy typically provided in home-based programs. In 2000, with the support of Dr. Michael Alessandri, the Executive Director of the University of Miami CARD Program, the family established a 501c3, located space, and opened with four students. Nearly two decades later, The Victory Center is shining as a beacon of light for countless families across the South Florida community. Today, the organization boasts a multifaceted service model that includes year-round and full-day student programs, research opportunities for professionals, and internships and practicum hours for individuals seeking certification in the field. Student-based services have grown to include five center-based programs that address the varying challenges that affect students on the autism spectrum. Current programming is available to students 3-22 years of age from Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties who have been diagnosed with autism and other related developmental disabilities. Student programs include early intervention services for young children newly diagnosed, specialized grade-level instruction to prepare students for post-secondary and/or employment opportunities, and daily living and vocational training to promote generalization and independence as students age out of the education system.
