Sunset Elementary School PTA

The Sunset Elementary PTA works to enhance the school for the benefit of students and teachers. For example, campus improvements such as the outdoor field, landscaping maintenance and playground canopies are all supplied by the PTA.  This year, we are actively working on raising funds to refurbish our cafeteria and outdoor spaces.

New tables in an elementary school cafeteria enhance the lunch experience by improving comfort and optimizing space. They promote better hygiene with easier-to-clean surfaces and can be designed for accessibility, ensuring inclusivity for all students. Additionally, durable materials reduce the need for frequent replacements, while attractive designs create a more inviting environment. Larger or reconfigurable tables also encourage social interaction and collaboration, fostering a sense of community and promoting healthier eating habits. Overall, new tables contribute to a more enjoyable and efficient lunchtime experience.

Outdoor surfacing enhances our school by providing safe, durable, and attractive areas for play and learning.  High-quality surfaces reduce the risk of injuries with shock-absorbent materials that cushion falls, promoting safer outdoor activities.  Also, vibrant and engaging designs stimulate creativity and encourage physical activity, fostering a more active and healthy lifestyle. Finally, well-designed outdoor areas support various educational activities, adding to the overall learning environment and community feel of the school.

The PTA provides funding for other school resources such as the school's Accelerated Reader program, it also supplies agendas to all students in grades 2 through 5, on-going landscaping and maintenance, and other capital improvements. The PTA funds the various appreciation days throughout the year, holiday and end of year treats for the students and teachers, as well as the activities and performers for Sunset's yearly World Fair Day.
