Sports Konnect is chartered as a nonprofit 501(C) (3) corporation in Miami, FL, with the goal of
providing and Sports Lessons and life skills to at-risk youth and teach them life lessons through
sports, respectfully assisting the youth and their family. We are planning to send 100 kids to sports and science camps with all donations. We work with our youth in small groups
with mentors to give them that one-on-one attention. Our primary location is the in the
Richmond Heights and Southridge Senior High areas. We have spent the last 2 years working in
the Richmond Heights community. Richmond Heights is a neighborhood rich in tradition with
some of the most successful black leaders in Miami. Our start-up year facilities will be located at
Richmond Heights Middle school and Southridge Senior High.
Giving Activity
Mission
Sports Konnect enables youth to participate in a program that provided him with a role model mentor and life skills that
he has carried forward into a very successful high school career. Joshua is a now a thriving
Junior at his neighborhood high school where he is involved in sports as a member of the high
school basketball team while maintaining a B average GPA. Sports Konnect provides an after
school mentoring environment to serve "At Risk" students ages 11-18 in Underserved
neighborhoods in Southern Miami-Dade County. The organizational goals are to improve
academic performance, strengthen students in good mental and physical health, and provide life
skills (eg. Career pathways and financial literacy).
Sports Konnect provides this mentoring environment in order to:

Nourish positive social interactions
Share successful practices with educators and other students
