People living with disabilities are alone, isolated. Special Compass embraces them by including them in community activities that create friendships, build self esteem and confidence to live independently. Our programs include 5K Runs, pairing "Abled-Bodied" athletes with our disabled athletes to cross the finish line together. This model is included in Triathlons including the famous Escape to Miami. We hosted 38 paired teams who swam across Biscayne Bay, then biked 25 miles, ran 6 miles. All received medals, 2 years consecutively. The night before we host a gala with guest speakers. The athletes all slept at the Marriott and in the morning boarded a boat behind the hotel. We encourage Diversity, Inclusion, friendship.

Affordable Housing - Currently we're in pre-development of an Adaptive Affordable Housing apartment complex w/ 60 units. This "Barrier-Free" smart technology environment is designed for functional independent living for all types of disabilities. Programs and services will be provided.
Recently we did an adaptive home make over for a married couple both confined to wheelchairs. We expanded their master bedroom into the guest bedroom, patio, built a fence around their home, installed a new air conditioner, installed a large concrete patio around the house, new sprinkler, landscape, and new tile, doors and windows. It was zero cost in labor and sponsors helped with materials. Our volunteers helped for 3 months.

Education - The Rex Blazer scholarship assists financially those seeking to further their education in college or technical or vocational school. Rex Blazer was athlete diagnosed with cerebral palsy and long time ambassador for Special Compass. He recently passed and embodied the traits of inclusion, adventure and friendship.

Employment - we assist job placement. Our collaborative partners include The Miami Dolphins, The Florida Panthers, and Bang Energy Drink.
