Virginia a Boone-Highland Oaks Elementary PTA

Virginia A. Boone Highland Oaks Elementary School (VABHOE) is a public school in the North Miami Beach area with over 600 students in grades Pre-K – 5th. VABHOE is proud to be an A school. VABHOE has a thriving gifted department as well as a dedicated special education department. Additionally, as the history of the oak trees that shade the school continually grows, so does the history of the school. Our school has a unique charm as a nurturing learning environment with administrators, staff, parents, and community working closely together to provide students with an education of excellence.

The reality at VABHOE is that some students come from low socio-economic households, with 30% of the school on the free or reduced-priced lunch program. Students and parents do not have the financial means to provide essentials. Teachers struggle to give their students what they need to be successful. That's where PTA strives to help.

PTA raises money in various creative ways and gives back to the school through student rewards and incentives, student supplies and support, teacher grants for class programs, teacher appreciation and support, educational programming, technology upgrades and repairs, and capital improvements. PTA also promotes communication and outreach through social media and email, gets the community involved, and tries to make the school a positive and engaging place to attend school.
