Friends of Pinecrest Dance Project

The nonprofit Friends of Pinecrest Dance Project (FoPDP) was born from Pinecrest Dance Project, a leading dance company founded in 2012, which has grown to offer youth dance programs to children and youth at 5 locations throughout Miami-Dade County. Friends of Pinecrest Dance Project provides dance class scholarships for children in financial need and presents free community dance events for the public, such as the upcoming DanceCrest!

DanceCrest aims to enrich the lives of the community through a weekend of accessible, exciting dance experiences. DanceCrest will be the first dance festival of its kind in Miami-Dade County, due to its focus on youth in a non-competitive environment. DanceCrest will bring together the Miami-Dade County dance community through partnerships with 15 dance studios and 20 local vendors for a weekend of performances, workshops, masterclasses, dance merchandise, and fun activities in a premier venue, Pinecrest Gardens, on Saturday, March 3rd 2024. This will result in approximately 100 total scheduled performances that will be free and open to the public. Youth participants of all backgrounds and abilities will have the opportunity to showcase their work, exchange ideas, and grow as artists.

Friends of PDP also provides scholarships to children ages 3-18, including those with disabilities, throughout Miami-Dade County. Scholarships are awarded to children in financial need at various locations to attend after-school dance classes and summer dance programs year-round.
