New Horizons Community Mental Health Center, Inc. was the first community mental health center in South Florida.  We are accredited by the Joint Commission. The Center has been successful in providing services to specialized populations since its inception in 1974. Services are provided to persons experiencing homelessness, mental illness, co-occurring disorders (mental health and substance use disorders), children and families at risk of abuse and neglect, adolescents at risk of involvement with the juvenile justice system, adult patients involved with state and local criminal justice systems, single mothers transitioning from public assistance to work and self-sufficiency, and residential care for adults unable to sustain independent living due to mental illness.
As a champion for an equitable delivery of comprehensive behavioral health services, New Horizons Community Mental Health Center, Inc. has impacted the wellness of the community in the urban core of Miami-Dade County. The Center continues to provide needed behavioral health services as a part of our commitment to our community, individuals and families served. The programs and services offered have proven effective many times over as evidenced by attainment of individuals and families goals.

Mission

To provide comprehensive behavioral health services to residents of Miami-Dade County regardless of race, creed, sex, age, gender orientation, disability, or socioeconomic status.
