Our goal is to help women, children, and families in our community. The past few years have hit everyone hard and we try to help those that are most vulnerable. This summer we provided summer camp scholarships to the Alper JCC for 4 children who otherwise wouldn't have been able to attend. In July we had a food drive to support the Coconut Grove Crisis Food Pantry, and in August we collected school supplies and personal items to help the children of Migrant Workers. We regularly ask our members to donate travel sized toiletries and we put together several care bags and give them to local shelters. We have donated money, toiletries, and even Halloween costumes to Lotus House Women's Shelter. We have committed to donating and preparing meals once a month to the girls living in Casa Valentina.
As a result of our Human Trafficking Awareness event on February 21, 2023, with Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and Dade County State Attorney Kathy Fernandez Rundle, The Kendall Section Human Trafficking Committee was able to post our HT flyers (English, Spanish & Creole) into the 500 restrooms (250 womens’ & 250 mens’) at the Miami International Airport!
The National Council of Jewish Women Kendall Section is a grassroots organization of volunteers and advocates who turn progressive ideals into action. Inspired by Jewish values, NCJW Kendall strives for social justice by improving the quality of life for women, children, and families and by safeguarding individual rights and freedoms.
