Located in North Miami, MOCA aspires to be a welcoming center at the heart of the community where art and art experiences flow in and out of the building - activating parks, schools, homes, and civic spaces. MOCA seeks to connect local and global conversations about art by serving as a meeting place for cultural expressions and exchanges, and uniting diverse communities through the arts while fostering understanding and inclusion.

MOCA taps into the cultural energy of the region to bring new art and perspectives to the public, building on North Miami's legacy as a cultural destination. Visitors and members of the community can expect thought-provoking exhibitions that feature underexplored artists and lift up diverse voices and stories. The Museum has three current exhibitions: Andrea Chung: Between Too Late and Too Early, which features works across multiple mediums investigating the colonial as it relates to motherhood, Blackness, the impact of trauma and the imagination; Smita Sen: Embodied, which explores the artist's use of her dance-based performances incorporated into her sculptures and drawings; and Nicole Salcedo: Earth Gate, as part of MOCA's Art on The Plaza series, featuring an anthropomorphic gate, intricately carved to represent a face, which is the artist’s interpretation of the spirit of nature.

MOCA's exhibitions are contextualized through mission-driven education, community-building initiatives, and public programs. MOCA hosts education programs for all ages, including Sunday Stories (ages 1-5); Mini-Makers (ages 6-12); Summer Art Camp (ages 6-13); Teen Art Force (ages 13-17); MOCA at the Library (ages 11-17); and MOCA Makers (18+), and has delivered free arts education to thousands of children and teens in South Florida since 1996. MOCA's beloved Jazz and MOCA concert series brings 300+ community members to MOCA Plaza on the final Friday of every month Scholarly public events include lectures, panel discussions, and film screenings.
