MDC's Miami Film Festival

A nonprofit organization

Miami Film Festival is a world-class platform for International and Ibero-American films. Presenting its 39th edition from March 4 - 13, 2022, the Festival showcases the work of the world's best emerging and established filmmakers to the diverse cosmopolitan community of Miami. Cash awards totaling almost $100,000 are given in competition categories.

Though the 2020 Festival ended prematurely after six days due to COVID-19 concerns, our 2021 edition was presented in a hybrid format with in-person screenings following all safety measures taking place in Downtown Miami and virtual screenings available to stream across the Unites States.

Miami Dade College's Tower Theater presents the best of international and independent cinema year-round in the heart of Miami's Little Havana Neighborhood. 2011, USA Today declared MDC's Tower Theater Miami "one of the 10 great places to see a movie in splendor" in the newspaper's round-up of the best old-fashioned movie palaces in America.

Both Miami Film Festival and Tower Theater Miami are committed to continuing to bring the community the best cinema, whether it be in-theater with proper safety and social distancing protocols or virtually on stable and easy-to-use platforms.

Mission

To bridge cultural understanding through film and encourage artistic development.
