$5,000 Goal

At the Manipura Care Network, we serve youth caregivers through the study and practice of the arts.

With diverse arts education initiatives, from museum field trips to artist workshops, we aim to create avenues for educational access and to improve the quality of life for the millions of youth who care for a sick, elderly, or disabled family member. With our summer arts immersion programs, we create opportunities for caregiving youth to nurture their creative confidence, autonomy, and authorship while exploring nature; learning different arts media; and building community.

We began our work in 2022 with seed funding from Recess, a leading arts organization. In just one year, we were able to launch two arts education programs -- the Caregiver Arts Workshops and the MCN Summer Fellowship.

Approximately 5.4 million youth caregivers in the United States assist a sick, elderly, or disabled loved one with meals, medical care, personal care, and often, transportation. Our work is dedicated to serving these young people, providing material support, community, and arts immersion to caregiving youth.
