The MCOM Summer School reading camp is a non-fee-based summer program that offers an academically enriching learning experience for children in West Coconut Grove and the surrounding communities.
The program provides a (6) week comprehensive literacy program of targeted and intensive reading intervention to assist students in achieving reading competency and understanding math concepts. The Freedom School portion of our program is designed to promote cultural awareness, and civic engagement by integrating Black history and cultural studies into the curriculum, the program aims to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of Black collective heritage and the pivotal role it plays in shaping our society.

Our mission is to improve the quality of life of our youth through education, development, and providing a safe and supportive environment.
Primary Goals:
Improve Literacy: Provide intensive reading instruction and activities to enhance literacy skills.
Foster Civic Engagement: Encourage students to actively participate in their communities through service projects and civic education.
Promote Cultural Awareness: Expose students to diverse cultural experiences that broaden their perspectives and deepen their understanding of social justice.
Strengthen Family and Community Involvement: Engage families and community members in the educational process to create a supportive environment for student success.
