Leadership Learning Center at St. John Bosco

The Leadership Learning Center engages students in a rich variety of after-school activities. We serve approximately 250 students mostly from the Little Havana area in grades Kinder through 12. The program emphasizes academic achievement and personal growth as a path out of poverty. Social skills and leadership qualities are modeled by all staff and embedded in all activities. In addition to homework assistance, students are able to explore creative potentials, have the opportunity to maintain physical fitness, arts, music, STEM activities and receive nutritional snacks.
Activities are planned and led by certified Miami-Dade County teachers with the assistance of trained teacher aides and volunteer assistants. We provide students with the opportunities to attend field trips to places such as the zoo, theater, bowling, and other activities in which they would not otherwise be able to participate.
Students in middle school and high school grades participate in a college readiness program designed to develop the necessary skills, explore careers, guide them through the whole college application process and offer college tours.

All students attending receive scholarships.

Leadership Learning Center at St. John Bosco addresses the needs of students, as well as families in the community. We also host a food pantry, provide all school supplies to our students, and provide opportunities for preventive health services to name some of our other services.
This much-needed child care service is an essential component for families in our community to allow the continuation of employment, thus family economic stability.

The funds collected from GiveMiami Day will help support the mission to provide better academic opportunities to underprivileged children in the Little Havana Community. Help us empower the children through education to build the future leaders we need in our community.
