Fundaci贸n Las Valquirias was born in the Dominican Republic for the first time in 2018 and in Miami, United States in 2020. The objective of our founder Hilda Gomez and our Co-founder Almando Castillo has always been to focus on women as the power of the family.
In Santo Domingo, as in many Latin American countries, it is very normal for women not to work and stay at home taking care of the family, and many times these women have not even gone to school since they see him at home from a very young age because he has become in something normal. Las Valquirias was born with the purpose of educating our women but notwithstanding anyone who needs it, women are our priority but we do not leave behind any person who is in any need. We want to promote an educated, studied community that can be able to get ahead with their family day after day. We do not want to see more people in the streets suffering from hunger and cold, we believe that everyone is capable of getting ahead on their own and with help they can do much more, that is why Fundaci贸n Las Valquirias is a non-profit institution, committed to both national and international level with support for families at risk of vulnerability; taking into account that we start from the basis that an educated woman is the bosom of a stable family, knowing that the referents with which our foundation is based are the guide by which we are governed
Mission
The mission of Fundaci贸n Las Valquirias contributes to building a more integrated world, we want to promote the inclusion of women in business life with access to financing and training.
Focusing on women as the power of the family. We focus our efforts on promoting and supporting activities that contribute substantially to economic, professional, family and social aspects. Thus creating a more integrated and more evolved community based on the fact that women can do everything and take their family forward and also as a person and as a woman. The values that define our work are Ethics, Commitment, Respect for others, Tolerance, Kindness, Peace, Solidarity, Love, Justice, Responsibility, Fairnes, Liberty and Honesty.
These values are what move us as a foundation and what we strive for in order to carry out our mission.
Our vison,
Las Valquirias will be established as a benchmark for sustainable human development through the inclusion of women and families in social and work life.
