At Goodwill South Florida, our mission goes far beyond our retail stores and donation centers! From skill-building workshops to one-on-one job training, we help individuals with disabilities and other work barriers gain financial independence through meaningful employment.
One of the most impactful ways we do this is through our Job Placement Program. This Give Miami Day, you can help us achieve our annual goal of placing 1,000 individuals in jobs tailored to their abilities.
For 65 years, Goodwill South Florida has been transforming lives and helping people enter the workforce. While our retail stores help fund our mission, it’s generosity through Goodwill Giving that allows us to serve even more people in our community.

Mission
Goodwill’s mission is to provide training, employment, and job placement for people in need—creating hope, opportunity, and a place to belong. For 65 years, we have proudly supported individuals with disabilities and other work barriers in South Florida, where over 457,000 people face challenges to employment. Through our unique social enterprise, consisting of six Goodwill businesses, we fund a wide range of essential mission services. In fact, $0.95 of every dollar we earn goes directly toward services like the Career and Skills Center and the Adult Day Training program.
As Florida’s leading employer of individuals with disabilities and work barriers, we employ and train over 3,000 people and serve 5,800 individuals each year. But our mission doesn’t end with people—it extends to the planet. Each year, we divert 54 million pounds of waste from landfills and continuously look for ways to make our operations more sustainable, from using recycled materials in our apparel manufacturing division to earning CIMS Green Building certification in our janitorial division.
At Goodwill South Florida, we believe every individual has the potential to reach great heights. By offering a hand up, not a handout, we empower people to build greater independence and fulfill their potential through meaningful employment.
