$7,500 Goal

Give Back for Special Equestrians was founded in 2013 with two goals in mind - to provide therapeutic riding scholarships to children and veterans with physical, emotional, and intellectual disabilities as well as to teach young riders about philanthropy and have them play an integral role in the process of giving back. Our primary program involves raising funds to offer scholarships to disabled riders in need at Whispering Manes Therapeutic Riding Center in Miami. Whispering Manes provides equine therapy services to children and veterans healing from a variety of disabilities including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, PTSD, and TBIs among others.

Our secondary program is to encourage young riders (ages 8-25) to get involved in philanthropy and giving back through our young ambassadors (YA) program. Our YAs volunteer at our partner farms and participate in therapeutic riding lessons, help with fundraising events, and volunteer at our fundraisers and local event.

Mission

Give Back for Special Equestrians provides scholarships for therapeutic horseback riding and equine assisted therapy for children and veterans with physical and emotional disabilities, while also nurturing young equestrians in the value of giving back. Recently, Give Back for Special Equestrians expanded our mission to grow our services so that we can support our partner barns more than ever before. We also sponsor therapy horses, provide emergency funds, and aim to take on major projects such as building covered arenas to ensure therapy barns can provide thier life changing therapy regardless of the weather.
