Welcome to Friends of North Beach Elementary!
Friends of North Beach Elementary (Friends) was founded in 1993 by a group of dedicated parents who wanted to enrich the educational and social experiences of every child at North Beach Elementary. Today, Friends continues this mission, thanks to the commitment of our community, making North Beach Elementary a unique place for public education.
Our purpose is simple yet powerful: to enhance the educational experience of EVERY child. Friends raises funds to support additional teachers, staff, and programs that go beyond what the Miami-Dade School District provides. In the primary grades, Friends funds extra support staff to ensure teachers can focus on instruction and that all students get the attention they need. In the intermediate grades, Friends funds specialized programs in Technology, Science, Reading, Writing, and Math, creating a vibrant learning environment.
Funds raised on Give Miami Day are essential to keeping our school strong, allowing us to support positions not covered by the district. Our current Friends-funded staff for the 2024-2025 school year includes two paraprofessionals, two interventionists, a science lab teacher, and part-time security staff. For the 2025-2026 school year, we’re setting our sights on something even more impactful: reopening our media center, closed since COVID, by hiring an IT/Media Specialist. Our vision is to transform this space into a hub of creativity, storytelling, technology, and digital learning.
Friends is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization run entirely by parent volunteers.
