Your support of Friends of Gables High improves the educational experience for today's students and contributes to the growth and success of your alma mater. This support is a meaningful way to stay connected and make a positive impact on Coral Gables Sr. High School and the Coral Gables community.

Let's carry the 75th anniversary momentum forward by sharing our experiences and engaging with ongoing initiatives, as we work together to enhance the educational environment for future generations. We seek your support for key initiatives: modernizing our iconic auditorium with state-of-the-art lighting and A/V equipment, advancing technology for our distinguished Communications Arts, Film, and Digital Media programs, funding grants for clubs, activities and sports, enhancing the Athletic Training Room, and strengthening our Endowment Fund. These projects uphold the standard of excellence that defines our community. All donations can be directed to the fund or project of your choice, ensuring your gift reflects your passion and commitment.

Mission

Friends of Gables High is a non-profit dedicated to supporting Gables High. Annual Grants. We fund grants for student groups, coaches and teachers to promote educational activities and extra-curricular opportunities. Past grants have included: the Coral Lab; Highlights – the award-winning student-run newspaper; CavsConnect – the award-winning student-run website; Catharsis – a creative writing publication; Future Business Leaders of America; the Gablettes; the wrestling team; the football team, the Ceramics studio; Learning Strategies for ESE Students; the Academy of Finance; College Advisor Counselor trip; classroom beautification.

Hall of Fame. We coordinate and host the Coral Gables Senior High Hall of Fame, including the Hall of Fame Ceremony and Luncheon, honoring exemplary Gables High graduates, teachers and others that have demonstrated excellence in their fields or have made significant contributions to the school community.

Endowment. We are building an endowment to facilitate annual contributions to support future students and future needs, and to complement Miami Dade County School Board funding for capital projects and improvements.

Community and Alumni Outreach. We coordinate with business and community leaders in Coral Gables and surrounding communities to spread the word about excellence in education at Gables High. We activate relationships with alumni and connections for annual reunions. We coordinate with the City of Coral Gables and Miami-Dade County Public Schools to maximize opportunities for collaboration and creative ways to address the needs of the school and our community. We host regular social events for alumni, school leaders, community leaders to connect.

Campus Improvement Projects. We assist with targeted campus improvements, not covered by the capital funding provided by Miami Dade County Public Schools. We often coordinate with other supporters such as the PTSA, local foundations, generous individual donors, the Coral Gables Garden Club, etc. Past projects have included: Renovation of Staff Lounge; Renovated Patio including new tables, pavers, and sail shades; Beach Volleyball court.
