Fishing & Conservation Trust

The Fishing And Conservation Trust is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation whose mission is to promote environmental awareness and responsible stewardship within South Florida communities by hosting free fishing opportunities and educational events for our resident kids, schools and youth organizations.

PROGRAM GOALS

• To provide access to all participants that desire the experience. 
• To get kids outside, in a safe, fun-filled and stimulating environment where they can experience both a unique activity and learn enough about the sport, the fish and the marine environment to develop an appreciation for conservation of our renewable marine resources and ecosystems. 
• To create awareness in the children of the vulnerability of marine habitats and resources to misuse, overfishing, and the importance of conservation. 
• To teach ethical and safe angling skills and provide a foundation for the students to build a better understanding of fishing, fish and their environment.
• To provide a positive fishing experience, one that they may wish to experience again, and encourage sharing this experience among friends and family.

Whether a child becomes a fisherman or not, every child will leave this experience with a greater appreciation for our marine resources, the issues with managing them, and a sense of responsibility that they must do their part.
