Our Purpose & Methodology !
Finding Pasha is a volunteer-run organization dedicated to rescuing abandoned and stray cats and kittens, ensuring they find new, loving homes. We tirelessly save these vulnerable animals from the streets and overcrowded shelters of Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.
The foundation was named after Maritza’s beloved cat, PASHA, whose disappearance inspired the creation of this critical non profit mission.
Pasha was cherished from the moment she entered our lives, enjoying the freedom of the garden daily. However, one fateful day, Pasha wandered off and never returned, despite Maritza’s relentless search efforts, including door-to-door inquiries, social media campaigns, and locating oversized banners. This heart-wrenching loss motivated Maritza to channel her determination into rescuing other lost and abandoned cats.
In her quest to find Pasha, Maritza discovered countless hungry, sick, and injured cats. This revelation fueled her commitment to daily feedings and ultimately led to the formation of Finding Pasha. With each rescued cat, Maritza’s resolve grew stronger, leading her to partner with others who shared her mission.
Maritza’s dedication goes beyond just feeding; she and her team meticulously trap, microchip, and provide medical care to ensure each cat's well-being. The rising cost of veterinary treatment is a constant challenge, but our strong relationships with local vets help us manage these expenses through discounted services.
To sustain our rescue efforts, we established a charitable organization seeking public donations to support initiatives like Trap-Neuter (TN) programs. Your contributions are vital in helping us cover the costs of veterinary care, feeding, and shelter for these cats.
Since our founding, volunteers at Finding Pasha have saved countless cats and kittens, many of which have found forever homes with grateful families. We urgently need your support to continue this life-saving work. Join us in making a difference and providing these cats the chance they deserve.

A Deeper Look into Our Mission at Finding Pasha
At the heart of Finding Pasha lies a profound commitment to rescuing, fostering, caring for, and adopting out cats and kittens. Our mission is driven by the urgent need to save these vulnerable animals from dying on the streets or facing euthanasia in Miami shelters. We rescue cats and kittens from various dire situations, providing them with a second chance at life.
Our dedicated volunteers open their homes to these rescued cats and kittens, offering them temporary refuge until we can find them permanent, loving homes. For those needing special care, the elderly, or those unlikely to be adopted, we offer a safe haven at ourplans to erect South Florida's Feline Cat Sanctuary in the Redlands. This sanctuary will not only provides lifelong care for these special cats but also serves as a public space where visitors can spend time playing and bonding with our feline residents.
Our volunteers' compassion extends to all types of cats and kittens. We care for orphaned and abandoned kittens requiring round-the-clock bottle-feeding, mother cats with their litters, cats needing socialization, and those that are sick or injured. Each cat is given the attention and care necessary to thrive until they are old enough, healthy enough, and socialized enough to be adopted.
When the time is right, our volunteers work tirelessly to find these cats and kittens amazing, forever homes.
